Surfer is required for the MP-5 contouring plug-in (included in MP-5 professional).  This version of Surfer 8 is free to use, and has no time-out.  However it lacks an export functionality, so if you need to export an image from it then you will either need to upgrade to the full version ($499 US currently - and EHSData can supply) or do a print screen and use an image editor.

MP-5 uses Crystal reports for report design.  You can design your own using the templates provided.  There is no limit to the number, look and data presentation of them ...but you will need a copy of Crystal to do this.  You only need one copy of Crystal to design and deploy reports that can be viewed through all your MP-5 installations.

Free Microsoft GIF Animator   Click to download
Microsoft GIF Animator is a handy tool that allows you to easily create animated graphics. These are particularly powerful when used on Monitor-Pro contour plot gif's or map thematic gif images.

It can produce attractive GIF images that are fully optimized for the web. No code is required. All you need are an initial set of GIF files. These files can be opened with simple drag and drops from anywhere on the file Explorer.

Microsoft GIF Animator offers a wide range of tools for creating the perfect GIF. By default, the program assigns a 8-bit colour palette to each of your images. Microsoft GIF Animator gives you the ability to load your own custom palettes, including a choice between four dither methods. You can also configure the width and height of the animation as well as all frame characteristics. Animation options also let you loop, spin, fade images and add trailing comments. You can also apply transparency background colours. At any point, you can preview a GIF in the built-in animation viewer.

Finished images are saved in the GIF89a file format, which stores the information necessary for flipbook-style animation. Microsoft GIF Animator is free. It's a standalone application.

MP-5 uses the standard Microsoft Data Access Component to interact with its databases.  If you have data access problems, sometimes they can be solved by upgrading to the latest version.  It is a free download from Microsoft using the link above.
